Vice president of Mozilla Firefox , Jay Sullivan has urged the developers to take interest in building applications for Firefox.
To the room filled with about 70 developers Jay Sullivan explained:
“If you’re looking to build and develop mobile software without the 30 percent toll [Apple charges], Firefox OS will appeal to you.”
Another reason he presented for his urging the developers for Firefox OS development was the recent creation of Mozilla (“Payment API”). This creation allows the browsers to handle payments just like native mobile applications.
To him the success key for any operating systems which want to compete with the operating systems like Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS is straightforward and easy method for development to make developers familiar with the development environment.
“No new ecosystem will emerge unless it doesn’t require developers to learn a lot of new stuff.”
For who don’t know about Firefox OS, it is built completely on HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS; hence providing developers a better and easy approach for development.
The director research of Mozilla, Andreas Gal said, “Microsoft will be the last to experiment with proprietary native code, It will either fail and make Apple and Google the only two to have successful private systems, or it will succeed and it will take longer for them to go away.”
